Litter ill lee is a project about litter, viewing it, picking it up, and talking about it… As a nature lover, artist, mother, and community member, I am tired of seeing random garbage alongside of the roads I walk several times a week with my daughter. We live in a wooded, gated, and theoretically environmentally friendly community in central Michigan a state known for its natural beauty, and yet we find litter nearly daily.
After many springs and summers of collecting and properly disposing of litter in my neighborhood, I have decided that this is the spring that we are going to do something greater than a one person effort. After stopping my 20 month old daughter from picking up trash outside of retail shops, in parking lots, and doorways of major chain stores, this is the time to show her that we can do something about this issue.
We have created this Facebook site as a start, a small start. Here we will be posting pictures of what we pick up along our walks, from our ponds, lakes, and beaches. Here we will hashtag the manufactures, companies, and product to show you where these items end up. Here we will post photos of trash and litter in the natural landscape.
We hope to encourage the proper disposable of garbage, trash, and recyclables.
Please post photos of the environmental clean-up that you have done in your neighborhood. Post the pics of the litter you have found.
Literally we can help keep nature from feeling ill, do the right thing and keep America clean. #litterilllee
